A bold vision for the future of Lebanon

Gebran Gerge Bassil (born 21 June 1980) is a Lebanese politician, and as of 20 September 2015, the leader of the Free Patriotic Movement. Bassil was an activist for the Free Patriotic Movement from 1989 to 2005. In 2009, he served as the Minister of Telecommunications then as the Minister of Water and Energy in 2011 and is currently the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants. In September 2015, he became by designation the leader of the Free Patriotic Movement taking over the position that was occupied by his father-in-law, founder of the FPM and Lebanese President, Michel Aoun.
